The Elmhurst Symphony will put you into a jazz frame of mind for you to enjoy the works of John Williams, Leonard Bernstein, and George Gershwin. Featuring the grammy award winning Elmhurst College Jazz Ensemble, directed by Doug Beach with selections that will surprise and delight you. Guest artist Jan Berry Baker is also featured with the Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra. The Elmhurst College Jazz Ensemble’s appearance is generously underwritten by Diana Nicholas.

Young Artist Competition
Talented high school musicians audition not only for monetary prizes and an opportunity to perform with the ESO, but also to gain experience in public performances. The auditions are named after Dr. Robert Stanger, President of Elmhurst College (1957-1965) and Elmhurst Symphony (1968-1972), and 15 year member of the Elmhurst Kiwanis Club, who supports the scholarships.

Our annual outdoor concert on the grass. Bring your chairs or blankets and picnic while enjoying patriotic favorites and Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture - - with cannon!
